I am Ryan Young, a model, an adventurer, a runner. Stepping on a treadmill only five years ago to run for the first time, I ran my first marathon five months later. Three years and numerous marathons under my belt, I was ready for my next challenge. In January of 2015 I leaped into ultra running, completing Run Across California, a race covering 270 miles (over 10 marathons in 10 days). While running, it was my honor to raise funds for a charity close to my heart: The 100 Mile Club; an organization that encourages elementary school children to run or walk 100 miles per school year with the aim of curbing childhood inactivity.

I crossed my second ultra finish line at the Behind the Rocks 50 in Moab, Utah. Then shortly thereafter completed the Born To Run 60 mile race in Santa Barbara, CA, a truly rewarding experience, as I ran with members of the Tarahumara tribe, some of the greatest runners in the world made famous by the best-selling book Born To Run.

In August of 2015 I took on the Silverheels 100, my first one hundred mile ultra with a 36 hour time limit in the Colorado Rockies. Just a month later, I successfully completed the Grand 2 Grand, North America's only self-supported, multi-day staged race starting at the north rim of the Grand Canyon and finishing 175 miles, 7 days later, at the Grand Staircase Monument. Pushing through, I conquered another challenge this past February with the Susitna 100 outside Wasilla, Alaska. The rigorous 100 mile course runs through Northern Anchorage's frigid topography of frozen rivers, swamps and tight twisting trails. Trekking all 100 miles while pulling a 25 pound sled with essential survival equipment in the blistering winter conditions, I spent just over 37 hours out on the trail before crossing the finish line.

Now known as “the running model” I’ve had the privilege to model for top brands like Prada, Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, and shot campaigns for AT&T, Lexus, and National Rental Car, among many other recognizable names.

Originally a native of Chicago, I proudly call Los Angeles home, but enjoy being constantly on the move. I love traveling, writing about my journeys while creating social media content along the way.
